While searching for wheelchair accessible hotels in Edmonton, we came across this hotel. The price was around the same as anywhere else, but since we have stayed at other Best Western Plus hotels and had a great experience, we thought this would be the same. Right after booking the hotel on this website we phoned the hotel directly to ensure we reserved a wheelchair accessible room. The staff assured us we had. The night before our arrival I called to confirm again, and was told the only wheelchair accessible room was no longer available as it required some repairs. They would cancel our reservation with no charge. This was unacceptable as the Garth Brook concerts were this weekend and hotel rooms were at a premium if you could find one. We ended up settling for a room in which we could not get a wheelchair into the bathroom. Added to that, the hotel is under renovations, the elevator is old, and to top it off, this Plus hotel no longer offers the free buffet breakfast to it's guests. Needless to say we will never stay at this hotel again, nor would we recommend it to anyone, but especially to anyone in a wheelchair.

Disliked: While the staff were very friendly and I appreciate they tried their best; they are not trained well enough. This was a staff function and it took over 1 hour to check-in to our rooms. The supervisor came to help and said we had booked one room for 10 nights through Expedia, yet we didn’t book through Expedia which I reported several times. They wanted me to call Expedia which made no sense to me at all, eventually I asked to see the screen to at least get a reference number and turns out they weren’t even looking at the correct reservation, which I had to point out on their screen.Check out was no better, the poor desk clerk was trying so hard but clearly doesn’t have the experience to be left on her own. I am still trying to get receipts for the rooms and they said half the rooms were paid and then they weren’t. I’ll be checking my cc to see what actual charges I paid as they were very unsure. It was her first day on mornings so the process was very foreign to her with a group charge. Again, I do not fault the staff, she tried to figure it out.The hotel itself needs a really good cleaning. Our bed skirt had brown stains on it, the roof has something going on, it is brown and separating from the wall. The bathtub had a long black hair in it. It was very quiet and close to WEM.We met in the lounge, (10 of us) for a drink, we ordered 3 glasses of wine and it had to be 3 different kinds because they ran out. The others had to choose something else. Very disappointing as this was our staff Christmas party.

Disliked: The thermostat didn't work or there was no thermostat or something because it was freezing in the middle of the night. And for some reason the elevator was making some noises smelled like burning oil or burning rubber in the elevator.
