Exceptional

Very good hotel.

Liked: Booked hotel as my wife was travelling fairly early in the morning.The room was a great size, comfortable and clean as was all the hotel. The bed was very firm and comfortable. Although close to runway it wasn’t noisy.The staff were friendly and efficient.This hotel is attached to the walkway betwwen terminals so no need to be outside to get to terminal. Had a meal in the evening which was pretty good - vegan burger. Acceptable choice for non omnivores.The breakfast was offered at a discounted price on arrival. Breakfast was very good with an excellent choice of both food and drinks. As all hotels, we feel a greater range of cooked products for vegan/vegetarian available without special request and wait.The pool and leisure facilities had unrestricted acces and they were clean and well maintained. The pool was warm enough and both steam room and sauna worked very well.We paid for access to executive lounge which was nice and comfortable with a range of seating. We chose large armchairs which were very nice.We had unlimited access to hot and cold drinks and snacks. Beer. Wine. A few spirits and mixers.Tea/coffee machine.Overall a very nice comfortable stay and would certainly stay again if the need arises.
Disliked: The access security is not as tight as other hotels.Many these days have key controlled lift operation and also similarly operated access to bedroom corridors which this hotel did not have. Probably not essential but gives guests more secure feeling.We booked an executive room as we wanted to relax and make use of the executive lounge having used one in a Hilton hotel previously. Although the lounge was nice and comfortable with good view of runway we both felt that the range of snacks available were very limited, both hot and cold.There were just three hot options only one of which were vegetarian friendly. There were not sweet options available. We were nit expecting a full buffet but one or two more vegetarian hot options would have been good. Vegetarianism is not that unusual and omnivores are happy to eat non meat options without complaint?There were crisps available but no sweet choices. There were a variety available at breakfast of which a few could be provided in the executive lounge very easily?I returned to the lounge in the morning after my wife had gone to take her flight. I was disappointed again that the only snacks available were crisps. No biscuits nor cakes.We were disappointed with the facilities in the executive lounge and would not be inclined to go to the extra expense again.There was access to a range of snacks and drinks available for sale in reception but these were exceptionally expensive even given it was in an airport hotel !As in all hotels there are never enough tea, coffee milk etc. The beds were very comfortable but I personally felt the pillows uncomfortable.

Great stay over, but you...

Liked: Great location for night before long haul flight
Disliked: We did not sleep well at all. The mattress was so uncomfortable I woke with bad back pain.We stay at the radisson every year and this was the first time it was uncomfortable.
