Lovely Hotel very centrally located...
Liked: Good choice at breakfast; although it was very busy so long queues at peak times for the hot buffet element. Location was excellent - opposite the main Train Station, and easily walkable to the Port front and the main shopping street and Old Quarter/Cathedral. Lovely, modern hotel - nice bar area to meet for drinks (as we were travelling as a group of 6 friends, 3 couples).
Disliked: We had requested 3 rooms "close together", and booked these several months ago on Booking.com, so we were disappointed to find 1 room on a different floor, and 2 rooms at opposite sides of the building on the same floor above. Our own room received a phone call in the early hours from Reception, which woke us up, saying there'd been a complaint about noise - the Receptionist quoted the name of the room holder, but that was not our name - so they had rang the wrong room; which was disappointing. If the room occupier's name was known, they should have been able to call that room and not ours. We also had faulty main lights - on one evening the bathroom & main lights stopped working; these were quickly rectified when we mentioned it to Reception before going out for dinner, but the next morning they failed again - so we had to get washed & dressed using the flashlight from our iPhones. As we were checking out that same morning, we didn't complain a 2nd time, but by the time we returned from breakfast to collect our luggage, the lights were working again - without us having said anything, so it may have been part of a wider problem on the 7th floor. Overall, lovely Hotel and would recommend and would stay here again - our experience over the 2 nights we were here in December, was partially dampened by the non-working lights on 2 occasions, and one very early morning "wake up call", which was clearly an error, since we were both fast asleep when the call was received.

Great hotel..pity about the city...
Liked: Fairly good location. Helpful and very friendly staff especially on reception..
Disliked: The only really negative thing was that the seal round the shower door could have been better as the bathroom floor ended up VERY wet after using the shower. We had to mop it up with a towell.Unfortunately Antwerp itself appears to be a bit like a massive building site in parts with several roads closed and construction work everywhere. Not the best experience to have.

A disappointing and frustrating experience...
Liked: Nothing went well.
Disliked: We selected this hotel as another family member had elected to stay here at the same time - so it seemed more convenient.Firstly, as a general comment, this hotel needs to sort out a queuing system. We arrived at the same time as a busload of Dutch tourists, who only needed to go to one specific counter to collect an envelope - but no-one alerted them to this fact - result: absolute pandemonium. On subsequent days we experienced similar disorderly queues at reception on several occasions. An additional observation: I stay at hotels very frequently and the check-in process usually takes a few minutes (name, ID, payment, room number, keys). This is especially true when you book via Booking.com. But not in this hotel. Each check-in appeared to take forever, with little or no communication with the client. Combined with the lack of adequate queue management - this appeared to lead to frustration amongst the people waiting to check in.Secondly after having dropped our cases for storage on the day of our arrival, when we came back at three o'clock to check in, we were told that - despite having booked via booking.com weeks earlier - our room was unavailable for technical reasons. Later on we were told that they always overbook - and that on this occasion not enough people had cancelled. We assumed that the large group of Dutch visitors had been given priority. The duty manager was called and she explained that there was no choice but they offered us 'a really nice room in an hotel about 1 km up the road' Its main selling point: it had a balcony (which turned out to be a scrappy terrace - certainly no use to us in near-zero temperatures).Over the next days we had a few more disappointments - but to cut a long story short - when a couple of nights later we re-visited the hotel, we were given an upgrade, a small box of chocolates and a hand-written apology for the inconvenience.
