Never again, I will travel...

Disliked: The dinners were cheep and inedible, the room was not serviced over three days, there was no shower curtain despite me asking for one, it eventually turned up. The room next door was noisy and and 4.00pm on the 23th the Police hammered n my door looking for asylum seekers. I was not impressed. The breakfast was a overcooked sausage, an overcooked piece of bacon, a fried egg with back bits all over it,

Served the purpose for our...

Liked: Location. Breakfast was nice.
Disliked: Mouldy shower curtain (can’t cost much to replace that) and rusty shower pole. Very dated but we didn’t expect much for the price we paid.

Great location & staff!

Liked: Location. Staff. Free Parking. Lovely building.
Disliked: Under new ownership & obviously having teething problems. Could not fault staff, just not enough of them. The beautiful building needs to undergo a scheme of refurbishment, but it has all the makings of a great business. I wish them every success & will be interested to return.

What a truly awful hotel.

Liked: Location was good - close to some lovely restaurants
Disliked: What a truly awful hotel. We arrived to find hot water running from sink in the bathroom. Reported to receptionist and asked to change rooms - told this wasn’t possible due to them being full. He came up to take a look, banged it a few times but nothing worked. After a little while was told there was nothing they could do as they couldn’t contact the maintenance man and no tool box was available. Then discovered there was no soap in the room, back to reception again to ask for some, was asked whether there was a receptacle in the shower, I confirmed no, to be told “oh yes, lots of them fell of the wall because the guy used the wrong silicone”. I asked whether there was any soap available to be told no. Bed was awful, felt I was on a roller coaster all night - every time my husband rolled over I got bounced into the air. Whilst being unable to sleep, partly because of the water still running from the tap in the bathroom, I read the previous reviews on here. Most of which confirmed the issues with the hotel, but it’s clear that despite the hotel’s responses and platitudes, nothing has been done to address these. In the morning, I attempted a shower, which as one of the reviews had predicted was unusable due to it being scalding hot - clearly the thermostat on the shower is broken. I tried a bath (once I’d moved some of the hairs from it), the hot water ran out once it was a quarter full. What good is an overnight stay if you can’t bath or shower in the morning? Breakfast was ok, but we had to wait ages as it was busy and there was only one waitress (and presumably just one chef?). And they knew they would be full. The waitress also called everyone “mate” which wasn’t very professional.Overall, just don’t come here. It’s clear that they continue to book out rooms despite knowing there are issues with them. It really is very shabby and needs a total overhaul. I reported the issues again when I left but the receptionist really didn’t seem interested.
