Good
Liked: Location and historical structure.
Disliked: The room was nice, but it lacked a coffee maker and ice bucket in the room plus glasses. Not good for the ratings.

It is a very very...
Liked: The bed was SUPER comfortable. Everyone was so nice.
Disliked: This is not so much something that I didn’t like, but just an observation. In Mexico, a lot of of the hotels have very hard beds, almost like sleeping on concrete. And it may be a reasonably priced hotel or expensive one. They do this because the hard beds last longer. And so in recent years, I have been trying a lot of hotels in Puebla spending two nights in each to test the beds. I love the beds at this hotel, but based on my experience with other hotels in the city, the room was extremely small and the price for staying here was significantly higher in cost, considering the size of the room compared to other hotels..

Unhelpful staff, deceptive photos, deceptive...
Liked: The photos depicted in Booking.com are completely inaccurate. They are over-lit and do not convey at all the ambience of the hotel, which is housed in an historic 16th century convent. Of course the building is spectacular, but it is not at all bright, and the lobby and public spaces lack any feeling of warmth.
Disliked: I booked a large room with a king size bed, based on the photos presented on Booking.com, and was given a room that was cramped, dark, dated, stuck in a corner, and facing a wall. It was so depressing that I immediately asked to change rooms. I was told by more than one person at the desk that the hotel was full and that they could not help me. With so many options of places to stay in Puebla, I couldn’t believe that I had gotten stuck in such a depressing room, with such an unhelpful staff. I went online and saw on Booking.com and also on Expedia, that in fact there were plenty of rooms available in the hotel that evening. I also saw on Expedia that the prices of the rooms were much less expensive. Pricing seems to be all over the board. I did not book a cheap room. I was in Puebla to enjoy a beautiful evening with my husband. I wasn’t looking for a cheap deal and I did not pay a cheap price. I went back down to the front desk and asked to speak with a manager. It was this point that those at the front desk decided to be helpful-suddenly there had been cancellations. I was shown a variety of rooms, all of which were much, much better than what I had been assigned to. I chose a room on a higher floor with a better view and more space and ultimately enjoyed the experience. The room was pleasant, with nice touches, though coffee is not provided. You will have to order from room service, which is expensive. I can’t remember the last time I stayed in any hotel that didn’t have a coffee maker. Room service was swift and efficient.
