Brilliant. Excellent location, beautiful breakfast,...

Liked: Excellent location. Walking distance to everything Brighton has to offer, and for anything further, close to several bus stops and the train station. Excellent breakfast, and felt very secure. As a solo female traveller, I’m big on security and I felt so safe.

Miserable

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: Noisy cold and very dated. Really needs an upgrade. Windows bodged together with screws and pieces of timber on the seafront is ridiculous Wouldn’t stay here again ever

Short but very pleasant first...

Liked: Good value hotel, right on the seafront and only a short taxi ride from the station. It is also a fairly short walk, and on the level, to visit the Royal Pavilion. The room was a good size and we particularly liked the two armchairs in the bay window, with a great view of the beach and the water. The restaurant offers reasonable value, not outstanding but we ate dinner in the restaurant twice quite happily. Breakfast offered the usual fare, cooked to a good standard and the staff did well to monitor what needed replacing and refreshing. The pool in the basement is not enormous but good enough for 3 people to have a decent short swim. As someone with limited mobility I was surprised to find that I needed to descend a number of steps to go from the main gym area to the water. It would be impossible for anyone with less mobility than I had.Staff were great, friendly, welcoming and helpful. We don't plan to re-visit Brighton but if we did I would happily stay there again.
Disliked: Steps down to the swimming pool. Odd steps in the building though there is a good lift which helps a lot.

East wing apartment

Liked: Having the pool made the stay more enjoyable.
Disliked: East wing, having single glazed windows. We couldn't sleep with all the noise from outside and having young children i do not recommend.

Good and functional

Liked: Location
Disliked: The shower was unbearably hot and unable to adjust . When staff advised - they said it’s temperamental . No good to me and were obvious aware to it. Luckily only saying 1 night No parking facilities.

Bad

Liked: Tout a été gâché par les frais supplémentaires
Disliked: BE CAREFUL, I was scammed with an unexpected charge of 240 euros because this hotel accused me of having placed a sock on the smoke detector on the ceiling for having smoked in the room. I am 55 years old, I have always been a non-smoker and I was coming out of a shoulder operation which would have prevented me from any action of this kind, if indeed this preposterous idea had ever crossed my mind! Despite my appeal, the hotel maintained its accusations by sending me an implausible photo and even going so far as to claim that they had smelled smoke. (I am still a non-smoker!!!). So I imagine that this is a real scam coming from the hotel itself. An appeal with Booking and my legal insurance is in progress but as for you....flee this establishment!!!!!
