Disliked: This hotel was the one thing that made my trip to NJ awful.I live in MA, and after 8+ hours of driving, my partner and I arrived at the hotel around 10:30pm.I had already paid for the room in full, through booking.com. I received a confirmation email, as well as a notification from my bank, alerting me to the charge. The idea behind this, was for check-in to be quick and easy. I was wrong.Upon arrival the man behind the counter was not able to locate my reservation. After 10 mins of him typing, he was still unable to locate my reservation. When I started to become upset (since I had prepaid for the room and traveled 350 miles) he told me “I can manually enter you. You’re just lucky I have a room open”He then asked for $100 deposit- which I explained to him I had already paid for through booking.comHe explained to me that was incorrect.I tried to show him, an itemized recipe from booking.com but he insisted I was wrong.I handed over my debit card, and he charged me $100. (4 business days after check-out I had to call my bank and file a claim. When I called the hotel, they told me they already voided that deposit, however the money never returned into my account- nor was it pending.)After another 10 minutes we were finally in the room.Not only did I find hairs in the pillow cases, I also found a hair in the bathtub. At this point, it was 11pm and we had been driving all day. We were made to believe there were no other available rooms. So we did the only thing we could think of. Put some towels down and went to bed.The room itself does have a slight smell. Almost like an older folks home. However the hall and common areas do not share that scent.The shampoo/conditioner bottles they provide are not large enough for two people. So be prepared to pack or buy additional toiletries.There was a slight sense of validation as every time we entered or exited the building, it appeared another guest was having issues with check-in.
