Poor - 1.0 out of 5

Bobby, Irvine, visiting Zanzabar Louisville Sun, 11 July 2021

People were leaving when we walked in. Most disgusting room I've ever walked into. A lot of the rooms had bed bugs. Can not believe this place is even allowed to operate.

Liked: Nothing.
Disliked: Bed bugs.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Ann, Perry, visiting Whitney Hall Mon, 29 January 2018

There is a man that stands with an angry look and arms folded as you are checked in. He does this same thing at their terrible "free" breakfast. The second it turns 9:30 he is running to grab the disgusting breakfast items as fast as possible so no one can have seconds (why they would want them is beyond me) - there is nuked sausage, nuked round egg "slices", same exact tray of donuts and bagels both days; the orange juice tasted like it was as old as dirt. Unripe oranges and cereal with no labels so you can't tell if it's gluten free or not. The only decent thing is the waffles, which aren't gluten free and they were out of mix the first day. The pool had pieces of the ceiling in it and signs all over that if there are more than 5 people in the pool (seriously??) at once they will get a fine of $100. Also no one is allowed to swim alone or they will get fined $100 also. The "hot tubs" are stuffed away in the bathroom and the water in the bathrooms is so chlorinated it comes out blue and leaves a "taste" in the air. Definitely NOT worth the exorbant price they charge.

Liked: The maid didn't bother us, as we stayed 2 days.
Disliked: Everything else.

We stayed for the National Quartet Convention (Freedom Hall) and the staff was really helpful in giving us instructions on how to find our routes to different places in town. Room was clean.

Liked: Very friendly and helpful.

DO NOT STAY HERE.

Liked: Nothing!
Disliked: I spent $100/night plus a $100 deposit at check-in.The outside of the building is swarming with homeless people. They are sitting near the entrance. The lobby door is locked, but the front desk person opens the door. The whole building reeks of weed.We left for dinner, but wanted to get back before dark because the place was so sketchy and we did not feel safe. I had my mom and my two young kids with me. When we got back we noticed the carpets throughout the whole place were stained. The room was the worse part. I have never seen more stains on a bed in my life. The jacuzzi tub was covered in mold. The mirrors all had dirty finger prints. There were dead and alive bugs in the kitchen cabinets/drawers.We decided to take the kids to the pool while we figured out what to do. The water smelt a little bit like chlorine, but was so mirky that we could hardly see the bottom. While we were in there we notice that there was a man with a handkerchief covering his face; watching us from the outside window. We left the pool and went back to our room to grab our belongings. We went to the lobby and there were 4 other couples in front of us in line checking in. None of them had luggage. One had a younger child, but after they received a room key, they went straight to the elevator. I told the front desk worker that my room was so disgusting and I could not stay. He asked me for my room key and then typed on the computer for a minute. Then he said "you are all set". That was it. I asked him if I would be receiving my $100 deposit that I had to give at check-in and he said yes, but not a refund on the room. I did not even stay 2 hours. I can't even believe I had to put $100 deposit down on this crap hole. He did not offer to refund me half or anything.I ended up driving 15 minutes down the road & spent $115 on an almost fully booked, nice suite by Marriott.

Cheap is not always better.

Liked: The property is in a good location to get on and off 65. It was not in the best part of town.
Disliked: DIRTY!!!!! The entire place was dirty! The elevator had the same trash in it all week and looked like someone needed a spray bottle of lysol to clean it once in a while. The pool area was dirty. A cleaning person came in while we were in there. They swept a 10 foot area, changed the trash and left. There were hairballs, socks, and crap all around from party there Saturday night. It all was still there Tuesday night. The trash can in the breakfast room looked like someone spilled pancake mix on it all week. I wiped my own room down with some Clorox wipes and glad I did. I went through a travel pack. There were what looked like boogers on the wall next to the toilet. The sheets need to be replaced. The elastic would not keep the fitted sheet in place.

Worst ever

Liked: It was a roof over my head, and that was it
Disliked: The first room I went in, had broken drug paraphernalia on the carpet, blood splattered across the wall, cigarette ashes everywhere, and had never been cleaned. They gave me another room in this room. The spa tub was cracked. The Jets didn’t work and it had filthy dirty carpet too.
