Fabulous location on Pyramid Lake

Disliked: Poor lighting no crockery or cutlery

Great views but nightmare for...

Liked: The location at the lake is beautiful and the room I was 'upgraded' to had a lake view. The restaurant also has a great menu and my server was lovely. The outdoor firepit was a nice touch on the balcony.
Disliked: On arrival, I was upgraded to a more expensive room as they were doing some renovation work elsewhere meaning my room wasn't available to me. As a solo traveller I suspect they felt the upgrade would work as then my larger originally booked room could be used for a larger group. The staff made it seem like it was beneficial to me, but in reality, I lost several amenities I'd purposely booked my original room type for - including an inside fireplace and desk.There's also a distinct lack of information relating to accessibility on the website. I'm disabled and I had a choice of using what could only be described as murder steps (steep & icy) to go from car park level to my new room or drag my suitcases over a muddy, icy car park, down a hill, along a gravel path and then to my room. I was also warned about how easy it was to track dirt & dust into the room. The whole situation was not ideal, and because of the comments made when upgrading me at check-in, it was apparent alternative rooms weren't available.As I'd booked another stay a week later I did check with reception if they could confirm I would be assigned my originally booked room I was told they couldn't confirm and someone would contact me the next day. When I explained why it was so important (health reasons, etc), they weren't particularly helpful, and the receptionist gave this nervous giggle which did nothing to instill confidence I would get what was booked. A very nice lady finally contacted me 2 days later but still couldn't provide absolute assurance by which point I had lost faith in the staff and hotel. I delayed submitting this response because the hotel I changed to for my next stay belonged to the same group and bizarrely the request for my Pyramid Lodge stay review was sent from my The Crimson booking which felt very strange.

Liked: Location is beautiful.
Disliked: For the price, the room would have been better with 2 comfy chairs instead of just one and a small table. I was surprise at the small closet. Would have been nice if it could accomdate longer clothing. The bathroom could have used some wall hooks for hanging wet towels.

Exceptional

Liked: The location was terrific! It is in a perfect spot near the lake and mountains! Ideal for families and people in groups, perfect for events such as weddings, seminars and etc. We enjoyed the place even though it's the start of spring. We would definitely visit the place again in the summer, which I think would be more fun.
Disliked: The sofabed foam is quite uncomfortable, I think it should be changed to newer foam, or better to have another option
