Great little find - flexible...

Liked: I can't rate this lodge highly enough. The accommodation is easy to find, overlooking beautiful countryside and Bamburgh Castle, has plenty of parking, a garage and cafe alongside it and all are open 24 hours a day - what more could you want?The staff were excellent - they went out of their way to help us. We had a meal in the restaurant and I can honestly say it was the best lasagne I've ever had! The flexibility to have something from the restaurant or the cafe at any time was brilliant. We left early (at 5am) and the cook made us bacon barms to take with us so that we could get going before the weather worsened. There was plenty of space in our room and the bed was really comfy too. I would definitely recommend this lodge and would call again if we were in the area.
Disliked: The only improvement I could think of would be a heated towel rail in the bathroom, but this was just a small thing.

Liked: Food very nice,staff very pleasant, restaurant and bar area well appointed. View from room nice and not overlooked with good heavy blackout curtains.Good parking, 24hour ammenities, I Can see the benefits of location,cost etc if staying for work or travel purposes.
Disliked: Room and accommodation section felt a bit tired. Mattress well used /soft and not very comfy for 2 full sized adults. Was minor cobwebs and dust around light fitting and unit. Room was extremely cold on arrival , no heating in bathroom and smelt damp which Improved after we left the little portable heater in room on high. Pillows thin and only 2 each available. We stayed in the amble inn for the previous night which was cost comparable but better accommodation for holiday purpose.

Great stay and nice staff

Liked: Perfect location right next to the road, yet the rooms are facing fields so no sound from the road to be heard.Nice room with all we needed. Staff was very nice.There is a restaurant on ground floor to eat in the evenings.Breakfast was good!
