Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at...

Liked: Excellent breakfast delivered to our door.It was a perfect location.We enjoyed sitting in the lounge area with a snack where the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The bed was so hard that it gave me backache extremely uncomfortable.

Handy for York Station

Disliked: Vegetarians only get the vegan option so lazy menu - nothing on there that looked appealing

Liked: The hotel was something else fabulous
Disliked: The restaurant was just basic as if didn't belong to the original building, but the fish and chips was yummy

Great for a weekend away...

Liked: Beautiful old railway hotel. Very grand. Lovely newly refurbished en suite, although only a shower & I do like a bath!
Disliked: Slow coffee service and the machine temperature needs turning up! Room was quite small but fine for a weekend.

Spacious, stylish, friendly hotel that...

Liked: Lovely building with history and right next to York station and a short pleasant walk into the city. The hotel welcomes your dogs! Staff were friendly and the rooms were practical, cozy and clean.
Disliked: It was a bit cold in parts and could do with a few more staff at busy times and check-in, check-out

Disappointing

Liked: The hotel itself is a lovely grand hotel in the perfect location for the city centre.
Disliked: Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The room was very small and not the cleanest. When you have such a grand entrance, you expect the grandure to carry on throughout the hotel. The refreshments tray was very underwhelming, with not enough of anything for two people. I was able to write my name in the lightshade, and the blind was broken. No attention to detail. We ate breakfast at the hotel both mornings we were there.....£18 pp each day for cold food, which was not great, although the second morning was slightly better than the first. The first day, we went at 8 am to very little choice as some of the trays were empty or just one item left, and the second day, we went at 8.30am the trays were full but not hot. I don't mind spending money on these added extras, but I do mind paying for things that aren't value for money. I would definitely recommend not eating at the hotel and popping into town to a cafe. There are plenty of street food vans around the marketplace.. We have stayed at this hotel before when it was the principal, and it was excellent. Unfortunately, we didn't get the same experience this time. Also beware that the parking is £19per day!!!

Disliked: First breakfast plates were warm. Second breakfast was cold plates draughty dinning room our breakfast was cold by the time we got to our table

Disappointed, the hotel didn't meet...

Liked: Excellent location
Disliked: The heating in the room didn't work, there was remnants of a poo in the toilet, the staff were rushed off their feet so we were ignored when trying to get a drink in The Garden Room, there should have been more staff on. The room was very tired looking.
