Liked: Location was very good.
Disliked: Had to carry suitcases up flights of stairs. Lucky we were fit enough to do the job. Would be very hard for anyone who isn’t.

My favorite place to stay

Liked: The room was great for a solo leisure traveller and I love the location on the second floor. I didn't go to the breakfast so can't say anything about that. I particularly love the history, the colourful old world decor and charm, the lounge, and lovely staff - shout out to Kumar, a very sweet and helpful young man. I was happy to come back to this grand old dame, I am tired of soulless, bland, modern hotels. You have something special and I hope to be back in Rotorua again to stay there.
Disliked: Of course an old dowager like this will have some wear that requires upkeep, just don't modernize the decor.

Lovely old hotel

Liked: Stayed one night. Great location - close to town and some great cafes and restaurants. We had a two bedroom apartment- upstairs and it was roomy and quiet. It had blinds and curtains which made it dark so that was good. Clean and very comfortable. Plunge pool was lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely will stay here again and next time will try the restaurant.

Liked: We came back for happy hour people were sitting outside no one in the bar yet we were told we couldn't get a drink there was going to he a function there was no one there function wasn't started very poor service

Liked: Old shabby hotel. A/C did not work. Unfriendly staff. Terrible food and breakfast.
