Lovely few days away
Liked: Beautiful old building very pretty Very very welcoming staff, made to feel very welcome. Lovely bar with plenty of options tho very pricey cosy areas to sit Food was lovely also we had the sea food platter on the first night there room was very clean
Disliked: There was nothing I didn’t like other than perhaps the rooms could do with a bit of up dating. We had a balcony which on a summers day would have been lovely to sit out on.

The thatched pub looked delightful,...
Liked: Breakfast was quite good
Disliked: The bedroom was tired, need of decoration, carpet worn out, skirting boards need painting. Bathroom ink cracked in basin. Toilet smelt of urine and bath mat mouldy and dirty. Sign saying needed to be used in bath/ shower for own safety.

Nice place, friendly staff, would...
Liked: The room was small but adequate. Breakfast was very good value £14.95 for a full English with buffet continental, tea or coffee. This was included in the price I paid. We were there for a wedding evening do.
Disliked: The bathroom could do with a little modernization. There were a couple of brown stains on the carpet, not sure if dogs had stayed in the room as next door had a couple of small dogs with them .

The hotel did not live...
Liked: Location excellent for my visit to family in the area. Room clean, warm and comfortable.
Disliked: This is the third time I have stayed at the Potter's Heron, and the buffet breakfast is not so good as it used to be. Scrambled egg was the only type on offer and seemed to be made with dried egg, and the mushrooms looked dry. It seemed I was expected to make my toast when I selected my breakfast and use the same knife for buttering cold toast. I like my toast hot so made it after I had eaten my egg and bacon etc. so then had to ask for another knife which seemed to mystify the waitress. I suggested they should leave fresh knives by the toasters, but it didn't happen while I was there. There seems to be a problem with coffee. The first morning it was so strong it was undrinkable, and after that too weak. If they offer a self-service breakfast then they need a proper coffee machine. I wish they would go back to a menu and waitress service for breakfast as it was the first time I stayed here. Buffet breakfasts are always cold by the time you get it back to your table. My bathroom was clean, but the grouting look grubby and there had obviously been a leak from the bathroom above at some time so the ceiling was stained as was the grouting.

Liked: Parking easy. Comfortable bed. Main building picturesque.
Disliked: Rooms require decorating. Faulty shower dangerously hot and uncontrollable. Not sufficient tea, coffee etc for our two night stay. Too expensive for what was offered.
