Liked: The big copper soaking tub was just fabulous. Plus there was a full bath with a walk in shower in addition to the soaking tub. One gentleman that checked us in (sorry I don't remember his name) was just the very best, most accommodating and helpful human. I had messaged that we were running later than expected because of the train service and asked if there were somewhere we could get just a bowl of soup and some bread. He told us he would take care of us whenever we arrive. And, he did! We were caught in the rain before we caught there and the soup was exactly what was needed. Altogether wonderful experience all round,
Disliked: IDK what they could have possibly done better. Everything was lovely. Even air conditioning! And an elevator. Outstanding for a small, locally owned hotel.

Liked: Fantastic location, really lovely staff and great rooms. The copper bath was incredible and the view to the cathedral was stunning. Lovely walk to the river and town. Your staff are wonderful from bar staff to restaurant staff they were helpful, attentive and friendly. Could not rate them highly enough
Disliked: The restaurant. Sadly the food was ok but not amazing. The menu was dated and very old school A la carte which I guess was a fit for the majority of guests who were much older. For us who are real foodies this was a real let down. The portion size of the pork dish was tiny and the cheese board was very uninspiring when you have so much amazing cheese locally and you used plastic, no flavour cheese. The breakfast was ok. The cooked breakfast was ‘ok’ the scrambled egg was very over cooked and the rest was nothing outstanding but pleasant enough. Just no wow factor. Again staff were lovely.

Beautiful hotel, wonderful staff
Liked: Beautiful hotel, lovely location. Staff were fabulous and very attentive. The room was large and spacious and well decorated.
Disliked: Parking was an issue. Had to drive around Ely to a private car park and then call a number to enter a code. A good 7 minute walk back to the hotel. As it was raining, it made it more of an issue, but I know for such a central location your not going to get on-site parking. Breakfast was disappointing - i asked for a vegetarian breakfast without tomato or mushroom. I got a tiny veggie sausage, 1 hash brown, a small poached egg and a tiny pot of beans. Could really have given me an extra hash brown or another sausage! The full english for meat eaters looked lovely.

Liked: Comfortable, clean room. Beautiful view and comfy bed. Shower was brilliant.
Disliked: Bedside table lights need matching coloured bulbs and perhaps tv mount to swivel so you can watch tv in the bath
