Clean and quality accommodations at...

Liked: The room was quiet and clean and was a great value for the location. The bed was comfortable and both the temperature and water pressure in the shower were excellent. The room is spartan but the layout is very efficient, allowing me to store my belongings and be comfortable. I was traveling alone so this was ideal but if I was traveling with a partner it would certainly be cozy and perhaps require a bit of privacy. For this reason a shared bathroom arrangement where the bathroom is outside the room could actually work out better. There is a small window that opens for fresh air. You can sometimes hear voices in the hall but I have stayed at much more expensive hotels and had the same problem.
Disliked: The phone looked dirty, as if it was not subject to the same high standards used to clean the rest of the room. In this room the outlets were a little inconveniently located (underneath the desk and nightstand, but they were still very accessible. I have a lot of electronics to charge so I always travel with a small power strip and USB hub. There was only 1 open outlet on each side of the bed so if you have a lot of devices to charge/plug in you may want to consider bringing the same.

Perfect for our short stay

Liked: Very clean and comfy, great location.
Disliked: We couldn’t turn the radiator off so it got quite hot but we didn’t ask so might not be a problem. Small rooms but for that price in that location I can’t complain.

Perfect budget hotel with shared...

Liked: The price was very affordable and quality was good.
Disliked: I slept well on the 3rd floor, but my friend on the 4th floor said it was a little noisy overnight.

Convenient location

Liked: Great location. Very nice staff who had helpful recommendations. Clean rooms. Lovely rooftop!
Disliked: Room was very warm all the time even when it was a cold day. We turned the aircon on but this didn’t help, sometimes the aircon seemed to be blowing out warm air. We mentioned this issue to staff a couple times but didn’t get fixed during our stay. Hopefully they look into this issue in the future.

Overall good for the cost

Liked: The location is excellent, just a few blocks from 2 subway stations. The cost is reasonable considering the prices in NYC
Disliked: We got upgraded to a studio on the 3rd floor with windows facing 51st Street. While we were initially happy we started regretting it when we started hearing the yells and screams of people leaving the pubs and restaurants underneath us. Get an upper floor and NOT facing the street. Also, the water in the toilet kept getting low and replenishing again. We asked the front desk to send someone to fix it but nothing was done. Fortunately with the bathroom door closed we could nearly hear it at night.

Great stay as always

Liked: My preferred place to stay in the city. Has always been clean, the staff are friendly and accommodating, and I think the location is great. Enjoyed hanging out at Clinton Hall next door and on the rooftop.
Disliked: Nothing
