Value for the cost and...

Liked: For the price and the fact that we were given the opportunity to change rooms as there was hardly any central heating in our first room. No on suite bathroom but again the price depict that. The bed was very comfy and good soft towels. The owner was very amenable and friendly. Basic accommodation but definitely value for money if you’re happy without the thrills
Disliked: First night the room we were was given was very cold.

Liked: NOTHING ! We didn’t stay the night !
Disliked: EVERYTHING, SHARED BATHROOM WITH OTHER PEOPLE. Next to our room . COLD ROOM No HOT WATER IN SINK in ROOM. ONE CUSHION WAS DIRTY . HOST DIDNT EXPLAIN OR SHOW US THE ROOM AND BATHROOM. When we saw it . We decided we were not staying as not sharing bathroom at 56 years old .

Barely adequate

Liked: We could have our dogs with us, the sheets were clean, the radiator worked and it adjoins the pub!
Disliked: I can't recommend anyone to stay here unless they have to because they can't find anywhere else to stay that allows pets.Don't be fooled by the pictures...the rooms may have looked like that 15 years ago but are now terribly tired, oft repaired badly and lacking in any investment. Everywhere you look there are tired, broken, dusty fittings and fixtures.Bathroom was shared, not in itself bad, but the water pressure was weak, the lock was barely there, the soap in the bathroom and room has run out etc etc. I mean everything looks knackered. The carpet looked like to had been attacked by carpet moths and then a rugby team. There is no check in the young guy at the bar just pointed out the building. The reception area is becoming a bit of a dumping ground. Repairs and holes in the carpet, couple of fridges just hanging around. Signs for the rooms re just blu tacked to the glass. It a real struggle to get anything up the narrow stairs that have fire doors at the top and bottom. It's mess and needs a total refurb..it wasn't even cheap..I wouldn't pay more than 20 quid a night to stay here. It's not close to anything and does not offer any convenience at all. If you have pets try the bike and boot in the center instead..there rates in the off season are similar but it's a far nicer place.
