Lovely accommodation and dining experience....
Liked: Overall we had an enjoyable stay. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The house has a lot of history and it was nice to trace some of this back. The grounds are beautiful and the food was outstanding
Disliked: The waiting staff in the restaurant both at dinner and for breakfast were polite attentive and very nice. Sadly this was not the case in the bar/lounge and it sadly did impact our stay. We felt rushed by the lady serving us and were pressured to drink our drinks early throughout the afternoon and prior to dinner as we were told "they were going to be busy that evening and they wanted to "make sure they had enough glasses" After dinner we returned to the lounge for a few drinks and were again pressured to turn in for the night around 10pm because the lady serving us wanted to go to bed and had to drive home. The new security chap had arrived for his first shift as the owner had gone away for a few weeks and he was told that he would just need to sleep on site. We felt very uncomfortable remaining in the bar and retired to bed - which sadly cut our evening short. This was not expected there was no offer to have another drink and so naturally we were disappointed that our stay was cut short - such a shame. Going forward, I would like to suggest employing bar staff that show an interest in their guests and making their stay as enjoyable as possible. The bar lady in question fell far short of our expectations.

Nicely old fashioned
Liked: Very friendly, welcoming staff at receptionand behindthe bar. Comfortable bed. The Manor is nicely old fashioned and a bit stuffy but not overly so.
Disliked: Younger waiting staff need to remember to bring what was asked for and should really be taught that there are alternatives to saying "no worries" when they are asked for something. We were a bit disappointed that our room was changed at the last moment from the Courtyard to the main house which meant that it was a bit noisy. Room 1 which is at the top of the stairs, gets noise from the hallway downstairs. Also, I'm not happy with being woken up by Hoovering at 7.30 in the morning. This would not be an issue with the courtyard rooms. Lighting in the room was also unnecessarily bright.
