Warm, friendly comfortable stay with...

Liked: We liked the location - the hotel is surprisingly quiet despite being next to a road - the views from the bedroom windows across the landscape at the rear of the hotel are wonderful. It is an easy walk into the countryside to explore further. There is easy parking at the front . The evening meals served in the restaurant were home cooked and reasonably priced and were tasty. The service was efficient and friendly. The bedroom was spacious and warm - but not too hot and there was plenty of hot water for showers and baths. In the public areas there is a nice sunny terrace outside at the rear and a sunny lounge inside with comfortable seating.
Disliked: The breakfasts leaved something to be desired ( machine bread on orange squash) and the sound proofing between floors is not good. The towels in the bathroom could be bigger and so could the large double bed - 2 single mattresses together would be better.

Liked: Comfy beds and pillows. Beautiful view. Welcoming staff. Great restaurant and bar.
Disliked: Noisy floor boards meaning we woke up when the person above up moved around. Outdated bathroom.

Disliked: Hotel interior dated and dimly lit. Bathroom dated, shabby. I expect the light avocado bath suit was installed hastily in the 1970s. Bathroom sink gurgled when guests in another room used their sink. Bathroom radiator corroding at its base. Needs replacing soon before disaster strikes and radiator leaks.Overpriced.
