Liked: Th staff in the restaurant were good, and the food in the evening and at breakfast was good
Disliked: Shower in the room didn't work properly, as the temp gauge had jammed and had clearly been like that for some time. The receptions response of 'no one else has ever mentioned it' was both rude, unhelpful and seemed to imply I was making it up !. I've stopped at hundreds of hotels all over the world, and know what a working shower looks like. They did change the room for us. Both were scruffy, dirty and dated...needed some effort from the cleaners and some investment from the owners. We asked that the cobwebs overhanging the bed be removed ! The second room had problematic heating and didn't smell good, like the first one. This is really basic things that any hotel should be aware of, and clearly the cleaning staff were not up to the task at all, and no one was managing them.We were told they are trying to sell it...seems to suggest they have just given up with the place. Would not stay again. The pictures on the site are not representative of the rooms we stayed in, and reading other reviews, the negative comments have not been acted on, which for any service industry is both poor and disappointing...certainly not good for business.One the positive side, the bed was comfortable and the room a decent size.

Comfy room in a lovely...

Liked: A super clean and comfy room in a lovely old pub with heaps of character. Right on the river with beautiful views. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Central heating was on so room was lovely and cosy.

Disliked: no food available that evening. bar closed early so couldn't even get a drink at 8.45 ?????. told I owed them for 2 breakfasts we DID NOT have ??.

Enjoyable stay in great location

Liked: Great location - warm welcome and friendly, helpful staff. Enjoyed really nice meals (lunch and dinner) - good, varied menu and all very well presented. Most enjoyable. Breakfast was excellent and worth the extra fee. Generous portions and good ingredients.
Disliked: Attention to detail for cleaning perhaps not as good as it could be.
