Terrific hotel in a wonderful...

Liked: The Pendry is located right in the heart of the wonderful area around Hudson Yards on the West side. Can't say enough about how this area is clean, quiet (relatively), and FULL of great places to eat and shop. The Whole Foods steps away from the front entrance is a great bonus, but really, you can find just about anything within a short walk or subway ride. Penn Station is a block and a half away, as is the Hudson Yards station in the other direction, and we used both to get everywhere in NYC during our weeklong stay. The staff is as polite and wonderful as I can imagine a staff group being. They are respectful to levels that sometimes seem "too much," honestly (for example, it seems they have a policy that no staff member will ride on an elevator with a guest, like EVER, and while I get it, that's really not a big deal, right?). Anyway, I just can't say enough good things about this hotel. The rooms were spotless, with daily housekeeping service including turndowns at night. Traffic noise was only occasionally noticeable.
Disliked: There were a couple of minor mechanical issues in our room during our stay (safe wouldn't lock, drapes didn't close well, for example), but they were fixed immediately upon alerting the front desk. Aside from that, the hotel is not cheap, but given all of the above, I didn't mind overpaying as much as I thought I would!

Not good value for money…Don’t...

Liked: The location is next to Hudson Yards and nearby to other main attractions in midtown. Property looks well maintained and staff is friendly.
Disliked: Definitely not a luxurious or 5 star experience. Coffee maker didn’t work properly (I informed the front desk twice and they didn’t do anything about it). When it did work, the quality of the coffee pods was terrible. Gym ok. No pool or spa.Housekeeping was extremely erratic. One day I had to complain about the room not being cleaned up by 2pm. Not coming back or recommending this hotel. For anyone willing to spend 900usd/night price, I’d recommend so many great properties including the Plaza, Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, etc.
