Liked: Pear Tree B&B is in a great location to explore the area; about 30ish mins to York or coast and only a 5 min walk to the North York Moor Railway. Fantastic breakfasts with plenty of options. We stayed in the Barn Room at the back of the property, a large room which was clean and comfortable and had a sitting area. The bathroom was a very good size too with a shower over the bath and toiletries for your use. There were a few steps up to the room from the bathroom. Chris & Sarah are really nice and welcoming and offered tips on electric car charging for us and places to visit.

Very pleasant stay

Liked: Pear Tree House B&B is an unassuming place on the main road into Pickering. It’s about 10 mins to shops and railway station, has a pub just a few minutes away and a private off road car park. Chris and Sarah are a lovely couple who were very welcoming and friendly. Our room was on the front, overlooking a busy road but due to the secondary double glazing, we weren’t disturbed at all. Room and bathroom were beautifully clean, nice bed linen, comfy mattress, quite spacious with a seating area, lovely and warm too. Sarah’s breakfast, which was a pre-ordered affair, was plentiful and cooked just as we preferred. A lovely stay and we’d definitely return.
Disliked: We drove straight past initially and had to do a u turn so maybe a larger or more prominent sign
