Liked: Margaret was lovely, made things as easy as possible for a last minute booking as I had to stay overnight for work. I will say I did think the bed was quite uncomfortable

Liked: The staff were lovely and friendly so happy and helpful the food was great the place was lovly not a bad thing at all highly recommend

Great location for Alton Towers...

Liked: Location is perfect for Alton Towers. Charming traditional pub with simple but clean and comfortable rooms. Great breakfast and a lovely selection of pub meals in the evening. All of the staff were very friendly, especially the owner Margaret who took a genuine interest and ensured that everything went well throughout our stay.

Welcoming Inn

Liked: It was open, welcoming and on booking.com!
Disliked: Knob in shower seemed to point in wrong direction could only make water luke warm. Water supply and toilet made a loud noise.

Family weekend away.

Liked: The location was ideal as it was only 3 miles from where we were, on the Churnet Railway. The host Magaret was very pleasant and opened up the Inn early as we had young children in the group and were hungry. We had a lovely meal and a couple of drinks and my two grandsons had a lovely time. l can highly recommend the Peakstones Inn and Margaret the owner is a lovely lady. We even woke up to snow which was very enjoyable for the grandsons so near to Christmas.
Disliked: There was nothing to dislike.

Excellent proper pub

Liked: Staff and food were absolutely amazing. Staff were all so friendly and helpful. Such a lovely proper pub, snooker tables, darts everything you could ask for. Great prices, fast service, excellent place, highly recommend and only a stone throw away from Alton towers at half the price
Disliked: Service for the phone and card machine was hit and miss. I couldn't pay, only by bank transfer which the manager kindly agreed to.You could hear EVERYTHING, zero sound proofing.

Liked: Staff and owners very friendly and helpful, lovely family place
Disliked: I think the previous occupants had a dog which had urinated on the floor, it had been cleaned but smelt still. Also the shower had very little pressure so was hard rinsing hair - I must say we didn’t tell the owners about issues as we were only there late and gone early in the morning. I’m sure they would’ve sorted something out as they’re super friendly
