Great New Forest hotel
Liked: It was a lovely hotel dressed in Christmas season decorations. We were made very welcome on arrival, in the dining room and lounges. The dinner menu catered for a variety of tastes and was delicious. We enjoyed the indoor pool, jacuzzi and sauna and a stroll around the gardens. We very much enjoyed our stay and time spent walking in parts of the New Forest National Park.Wonderful few days.Thank you.
Disliked: Nothing.

Superb
Liked: Location of the hotel is in a beautiful location. Lots of country walks to experience.Overall we had a lovely stay and would return in warmer weather to explore the area more.
Disliked: Only criticism was having to switch off radiators. It was very mild for the time of year and heating including open fires were full blast.Room was generally clean apart from some evidence of cobwebs at ceiling height. There are quite a few stairs so not helpful to those who struggle.

Very pleasant but very isolated...
Liked: Evening meal was good staff very polite and informative
Disliked: Breakfast was poor left in so called hot plates which in fact did not retain the heat for the ingredients. Given the cost of Fifteen pounds each we refrained from any further breakfast dinning. We were advised that should we wish to obtain a fresh and hot breakfast then attendance in the dinning room at 8am was probably best. Room allocated on the second floor was not easily accessible for my partner who has mobility issues. Requirement to either use the car or book taxis if you wished to access lymington or the surrounding areas

Passive aggressive and incompetent staff,...
Liked: It looked as if it would be a nice hotel in the country, with a pool.
Disliked: We picked this hotel because it had a pool - the pool was out of order for our stay. Staff called me the day before our stay and quite bullishly tried to get us to commit to dining at the hotel and when I explained that we would decide when all our party was there, tried to tell me I should book because "there were only two slots left." When we checked in, we were asked what time we wanted breakfast and we said we were not sure and would again, ask our relatives when they arrived. However, as soon as we got to our room, the receptionist rang to say he had booked us in for 8am. We had specifically said we were not booking in early and cancelled that. When our party arrived, we changed this to 9.30. The worst thing though was that I was over charged for breakfast - they seemed to think three people had eaten two breakfasts each. Then we were constantly phoned after our departure about a bar bill I had already paid. They said that I owed them money and that my cousin also owed it - for the same drinks. This was refunded but the incompetence was extreme.
