The hotel was excellent. The concert was canceled right after we arrived. We spent the night anyway.

Liked: The breakfast was great, with fresh, crisp bagels and warm, comforting coffee—but honestly, that’s not the reason I chose to stay here. The bed was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for rest after a long flight. What made this place truly special to me, though, was the location and nostalgia. 23 years ago, I lived right across the street at 42 North Michigan Avenue, back when this hotel was still Vagabond Inn.The service was outstanding—the cashier even waited for me in the middle of the night to check in after my long journey. That level of care and hospitality made a lasting impression.
Disliked: Nothing significant—my stay was smooth, and the service was top-notch.

Liked: It's a lightly refurbished motel that's passable for a night. Small tight room with a refirig. and an old flat screen that barely worked. Has parking and ok breakfast.
Disliked: Too expensive for what it is

Great Experience and I’ll be...

Liked: This was my first trip to California and I had no idea what to expect. The other hotels in the area I needed were simply way too expensive, so I chose Rose. I didn’t expect it to be much for the price. I was PLEASANTLY surprised. My room was VERY clean (which is the first thing I look for), the staff was very helpful and personable, the included breakfast was fresh with multiple options, the area is safe, and I felt very comfortable as a woman was traveling alone. This may not be considered a five star hotel, but this is FAR from a sleazy motel. If you’re concerned, don’t be. I will be booking here again in June…TWICE!
Disliked: Curtains were a bit shabby
