It was special staying within...
Liked: The location and the fabric of the building and its historical fittings.
Disliked: There is no bar in an attractive area to relax in the evening with a drink.

We would not return to...
Liked: For the price paid for the 2 rooms, especially room 101, value was poor. room 101, please inspect this room, was dismal for our son. The outlook on to a weedy and murky pond was such that he kept his shutters closed. To charge 1200 A dollars for this room, unacceptable. Our other room similar.I would not recommend this hotel. There were 5 star hotels in the same location for 1/4 to a 1/3 of the price.
Disliked: The price charged was exhorbitant. The rooms needed renovation... bathrooms poor. The staff not overly friendly, especially a lady at the desk who showed us to our rooms. Quite solemn and unfriendly.

I left underwhelmed after being...
Liked: The location was superb felt like we were part of the Alhambra palace
Disliked: There was building work that we weren’t aware of and it started at 8am outside of our bedroom window which we had to open because the room was so hot and the temperature couldn’t be moderated below 19CThe bar and restaurant areas are too modern and very clinical with no atmosphere. Not in keeping with the rest of the property We also requested double beds but were given singles. Why ask and offer it and not deliver especially for a 5 star hotel Great to have tea and coffee but powdered milk?! Especially when there is a fridge

Renovation works we were not...
Liked: fabulous location, lovely bathroom, good dinner, comfortable bed (but synthetic pillows)
Disliked: we were offered a more expensive room, which we took up, but at no stage during booking or check-in did anyone say that a major part of the parador was closed for building works; the terrace with the view and gardens and the chapel area where Isabella and Ferdinand had been buried were not available because of building works, and no other area was available to have drinks or meals outside where the staff were willing to serve. Having paid a lot more for an upgraded room, we could just about sit on the tiny balcony for a drink and look at the view, but in retrospect, we would have expected this to be a free upgrade and the staff be more accommodating given the limited facilities available. It was a real shame.

Superb
Liked: With the hotel virtually being attached to the Alhambra Palace, the location was excellent if that was where you wanted to spend your time. You could walk down to the town centro in 10-15 mins via the walkway adjacent to the Puerta de la Justica, but as it would be all uphill, it is best to get a taxi back for approx 5-6 Euros. The hotel was very well kept and had lots of character, and at night it was very quiet and dark, allowing a great night's sleep. The ensuite bathroom was large and very well appointed The continental breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice. We didn't use the restaurant in the evenings, so we can not really comment, but based on the breakfast, we would expect the food to be very good.
Disliked: As we were here in January and it was not overly warm, the fact that there was no swimming pool didn't really affect us, but during the summer months, I think it would be really useful. We also thought that the bar area (in the same position as where breakfast was served) could have probably been better positioned to improve the atmosphere/ambience, as it currently feels soulless. This was also not helped as during the daytime, the outside balcony area was closed due to renovation works, but it would help when it is open in the summer months. We felt that the seating area with the TV, above the bar area, would have made a better bar area, except for the fact that there is no view, but would have more atmosphere.

Liked: Location and restaurants excellent.
Disliked: Noisy ground works going on from 6.30pm to almost 8pm. Front desk incapable of putting a halt to it ...

I would say good but...
Liked: very helpful staff, spacious rooms. simple breakfast but nice
Disliked: I stayed in standard room, the room view to the part of the garden only, I recommend to stay out of alhambra to get city view or Alhambra view, also long walk to the city centre about 20mins but you could ask for taxi about 6-7euro to the downtown. another issue you can hear everyone walk around you because of timber floor honestly it’s was less than what I expected

We had always wanted to...
Liked: The hotel was beautiful and we enjoyed it. The room was quiet and clean. Beds were comfortable. The location was terrific. The staff were helpful (except for check in, see below).
Disliked: The confusion at reception about our triple room....blaming booking.com for your inconsistencies in room rates. It would have been a lot more gracious to just let it go, rather than arguing with us at check in.The breakfast area could have been a bit more elegant. The staff could have moved our car away from the bird droppings, since they had the ability since they took our key.

Great location and very welcoming.
Liked: Fabulous location and very helpful staff. Food was good.
Disliked: We asked for a double bed but were provided with two singles. The jet bath needed a full clean as it filled the bath with bits of fluff and scale

Incomparable location
Liked: In short: to be present in the ancient and magnificent world of the once glorious Alhambra.
Disliked: We had room 111 and I heard noise coming from the stairs, the lobby, the room upstairs, the hallway. I mentioned it to the front desk, but they said they never received similar remarks about this room, so I must be quite sensitive.
