Liked: We love the Palihouse and staff. However, you need to invest in a back-up generator. And you need to figure out how ro provide hot water to your guests. We went to escape a hurricane that was headed for our home. As did other guests. We were very happy to be safe and comfortable. However there was no hot water when we arrived two days BEFORE the storm. And of course we knew entire area it would lose power and that Palihouse had no generator to provide electricity or hot/warm food. We chose to go there anyway. Some food - cold or room temp would have been welcome. And a generator to provide electricity and a water heater that did not become useless because City shut gas off prior to storm would make your hotel a heavenly place.

Luxurious port in a storm.

Liked: Husband and I were at Palihouse because Hurricane Helene forced us to evacuate our home in same city. We found it a wonderful refuge at a difficult time for all area residents. One staffer was very glum. But she lhad left a flooded house to come to work day after storm passed. Hot water was off part of time due to city shutting off gas.
