Painters Lodge podge

Liked: Location is Fabulous, October torm watching was exciting, the Beds were comfy, the main lodge is delightful with the old fishing photos and artistic decor from Painters at Painter's. I always wanted to stay there, it was a bucket list item.iI had been to many events there such as Painter's at Painter's , but just never actually stayed there. The food in the pub was good, breakfast was ok. The front desk girl needed to be clearer when she spoke and she was hard to understand at times
Disliked: The hot water took forever to warm up, and wasted a lot of water before it got even warm or hot. I think they should put in hot water on demand or upgrade the system. It would haVe been nice to go for a swim or hot tub if there was a roll over cover for the pool area in the office season or if they had a sauna or steam room. There was water coming in so there were leaks in a few areas down below and in the main fireplace area which was sad to see. I noticed the water pooling a long an old gutter outside from an upper area from a window that was more than likely causing the water issue leaking through to the room below, but the girl at the desk didn't want to hear it or understand what I was saying. There was a discrepancy at the front desk more than likely some one made a mistake punching something in...but the two people working on it had trouble tearing themselves away so I could check out. Oak Bay ran the lodge before and the standards were better and seemed different. They have sold it and now Wyndham is running it. The systems need work. They also should have told me there was a complimentary breakfast at check in so I could decide if I wanted that or to order something ala carte. Nothing really very much in the gift shop

Liked: Nice location for the wildlife!
Disliked: I made a complaint about the noise of neighbouring guests whilst at the hotel and the receptionist told me to email in. After multiple emails and calls no correspondence at all… Wyndham do not take responsibility and just told me to contact the manager.. but they do not respond.

Liked: view was best part , room was spaciousfood service - food was ok, ladies tried their best - serving staff was sick so they stepped in but didn't know wine or cocktail options. Service was good provided by the man on first night - he helped lift suitcase ( no elevator)Check out was difficult to carry heavy suitcase and briefcase on stairs .
Disliked: Hotel has leaks and in need of refresh / renovations
