Out of all the hostels...

Liked: The room and common areas were all clean with no signs of bugs or mold. It's an old building but they've done a good job making it comfortable. My room also came with a live plant and a little pile of pebbles in my window which may have been someone's previously abandoned rock collection but I thought it was a funny addition. This whole place is quaint and strange the way that only hostels are and that's why I prefer to stay in them.
Disliked: While there was a mattress protector on the bed there were no pillow protector and it showed. The radiator in my room didn't seem to be working so the room was very cold at night. It was fine once I got in bed as the duvet is quite warm but it did feel a bit like camping.Also as other reviews have pointed out there is a karaoke bar downstairs so if you want to sleep before 2am you need to be a deep sleeper.

Liked: Great location, and the reception staff was very accommodating and friendly, there were some tech issues checking in, but we figured out a solution in the end. The bed was reasonably comfortable, and great place for a quick stop over mid travel. There is a bar downstairs and a nightclub behind the building, and even with the window open I couldn't hear either of them which was great.
Disliked: The room smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke, at first I thought it was because the window was open, but even with it closed the smell did not go away. The window was open when I checked in, and there is no screen so there were bugs in my room. The bathrooms could use a deep clean, lots of washable stains on the walls and doors.

Liked: What is great here is that good people come from all around the world and get together in the very comfortable and well equipped kitchen / dining room/ lounge to cook their food and eat together.
