Great value and convenient location...

Liked: Two blocks to Kūhiō Beach; hotel was centrally located; staff were friendly and helpful; kitchen saved us money by eating in occasionally; free beach furnishings helped us enjoy the beach too
Disliked: No in-house breakfast restaurant; hotel pool was not available for use

Disliked: The Pacific Monarch is under repair!!!This is not advertised on Booking.com. Repairs are to building and the pool.No pool.We were told by staff that Booking.com had been informed of repairs.The studio with partial ocen view had no view. Extra price paid.The glass door to balcony had to be locked as the balcony was under repair. No view. Therefore the air conditioner next to the bed head had to remain on throughout the night. The fans helped as the ac noisy. 7.00am trade staff hoisting equipment to higher floor outside the room windows9.00am drilling.No pool under repair.No notification of repairs on booking.com.I may have missed that on hotel website.We cancelled our 2nd night within the first hour of arriving. We were told by staff we would be credited the 2nd night. There is a US $300 holding fee! Applied by the hotel.A very expensive mistake!!We expect Booking.com to reimburse us the 2nd night if the Pacific Monarch doesnt come through with their promise of the 2nd nights refund!

Excellent location - pricey for...

Liked: Staff very helpful and friendly - great location very comfortable.
Disliked: Wish we had known the pool would have been out of action before we booked - also too expensive for this time of the year

Liked: Location was really good.
Disliked: The room we staying at was super loud, you can hear the noise like you are on the street. We stayed in a room on the 9th floor. Additionally, the construction noise starting at early hours in the morning contributed to a less pleasant stay given that the room wasn’t any sound proofing.Hot tub was not clean.

Great location, lovely rooftop pool...

Liked: Waikiki is expensive so trying to find something that suits your budget but still offers everything you want is a challenge. This property worked out well for us. Short walk to beach, food trucks, bus. The bus is also a short ride to a proper supermarket if you want to cook your own meals. Our balcony had a partial view of ocean but only standing room and sticking head out however the views from rooftop pool were amazing!
Disliked: There were little cockroaches running around the kitchenette after dark. Saw about 5. Food needs to be kept in sealed containers or in the fridge. While we were there, there was a notice in the lift that the pest controller was treating every unit. So they are aware and doing something about it. It would not put me off staying there again. The apartment was spotless.

Would not recommend nor return

Liked: View and location of beach. Lots of fun shopping. Little luau shows almost daily on beachfront
Disliked: Saggy and torn sofa. Torn carpet. Bed in poor condition. New high rise being built next to our room. Lots of noise from crane etc room ac ceiling unit leaked twice in 6 days onto tv and cable box which caused a lot of maintenance and workmen in room. Lastly the bathroom door was ripped up on inside like a dog had been locked in there
