It was adequate
Liked: Breakfast was good, a good selection of different types, to suit all tastes. Staff were very attentive.
Disliked: The walls are paper thin, I could here the conversation from the adjoining room. When they took a shower (even with the bathroom door closed) it sounded like they were in my room.

Very dated; stay somewhere else...
Liked: The fact that (quite a good) breakfast was included was certainly a plus, but not enough to compensate for everything that is wrong with this hotel. The location is also an advantage; 15-20 minute walk from the centre. Some of the staff are really trying their best under the circumstances, so a special thanks goes to Marco (who sorted out car park for us) and also Luca (who helped keep our luggage safe when we went sightseeing).
Disliked: On arrival, it turned out that the car park was full and the only option was to park in the street, IF there were spaces. There weren't any (it was nearly midnight), plus the area is infamous for car break-ins (just read other people's reviews!). The description of the hotel on booking.com clearly states that parking is available and it does not mention that it may be unavailable at busy times. I understand it wasn't exactly the hotel staff's fault, but I had specifically chosen a hotel with a private car park so I was really unhappy about this and considered going to another hotel instead. One of the staff members really didn't seem to care and was quite rude, saying we'd still be charged the full fee even if we decided to go elsewhere (which we nearly did!!). He refused to put anything in writing about the unavailability of the car park, and insisted I'd have to speak to the manager the next day. Marco saved the situation somehow managing to find us a safe spot, but I was quite distressed about the whole thing, especially that we'd driven for over 6 hrs to get there, were with a child, and this just wasn't the welcome we were expecting. As for the hotel itself, I have no idea how it got 4 stars; it's super dated, feels like it's stuck in the 80s with old dark decor. The beds are uncomfortable (super hard!) and don't have proper duvets in winter time; there was just a thin sheet and a bed cover. My daughter was cold at night. There was also a distant whiff of cigarettes in the room. Not sure if someone had smoked there prior to our arrival but it certainly did not smell fresh. After 23, the bar is closed and the only thing you can get from one lousy vending machine is snacks. There were no water or juice bottles when I tried. Overall, would not stay there again.
