Liked: Friendly local pub with a small bar. Easy to check in with quick service. Ample parking on the streets nearby.
Disliked: Despite smelling strongly of bleach, this place needs a lot of work on its cleanliness and maintenance, specifically the shower and bathroom. The beds were not comfortable. Above the headboard there were plenty of scratch marks where the paint has been clawed off... I assume from a while ago.

Liked: Breakfast was really good. Big portion of full Scottish, complete with haggis. Buffet style for toast, cereal and drinks. Excellent service.
Disliked: There was a hint of a smell of smoke, but I think that was coming from one of the other guests.

Liked: staff were friendly. Hot shower with lots of pressure
Disliked: dated hotel , very tired furniture and decor. had a room at the front of hotel which was very, very, very noisy all through the night. curtains let street lights through so made sleeping very difficult. #BatesHotel based on cost @£90 not worth even half that cost
