Hasting visit

Liked: Easy access to the promenade, train station , good value . Lovely outside garden. Friendly staff.
Disliked: Unfortunatly our toilet was blocked first time of using it, but was sorted out whilst we were out so came back to it sorted. Room was ready ehen we arrive 1 and half hours early but was told we had to pay £25 if we wanted to use it . So went for a wonder instead

Overall, I enjoyed my stay...

Liked: I liked the clean white bed linen and towels, the bed was very comfortable too with lovely plump pillows. It was a nice view from the front of the hotel where my room was and the double glazed windows were great at keeping noise out. The sun streamed through the windows and there was a fan if it got too hot. The reception staff were always pleasant and helpful. Very useful to borrow a decent hairdryer one of the days. Very hot water (almost too hot). Great that there is a restaurant inhouse and that breakfast is included. The restaurant staff were very pleasant too (there was a moment where I saw the waitress being especially kind in a situation with a special needs family, which really touched me). The garden at the back looked lovely (although as yet too cold to go out there). I found the hotel value for money and even though there were aspects I wasn't keen on, it was an all round enjoyable experience.
Disliked: While the important main areas were clean (sink, shower, windowsills etc) the peripheral areas of the room (ie where carpet meets wall) were grubby, and with old marks on the carpets. This could have been improved with better regular cleaning and stain removal. The dark grouting on the shower could be cleaned with bleach and come up white again. The kettle was a bit hit and miss with the on/off switch. Lots of chipped paint and worn out decor. The inhouse restaurant for breakfast: I would have liked a small selection of fresh fruit to be available, the hash brown was still frozen in the middle (lovely eggs though!), and the prices had not been updated (when I had Sunday lunch) so I was charged £1.49 more than advertised (it was tasty though and worth the new price).
