Liked: The room was spacious and comfortable. Close to shopping, I always forget to pack something.
Disliked: We looked for a drink in the morning to take medication. The only thing offered was a $5 bottle of water. Seemed like a lot to me.

Liked: We liked the friendly and warm staff, the spacious suite we were kindly upgraded to at no extra cost, free drinks and breakfast, and the quality of the pub fare offered by the kitchen. The dry sauna was divine.
Disliked: The pool and hot tub need some love. There was a lot of build up and discoloration on both. The water under the type of lights used in the pool area looked a sickly green. The location on Hayden Island was really frustrating to get to and from either North or South Portland. We ran into massive slowdowns any direction we tried to come or go. We chose it to be close to friends who live on the island but it was such a pain to come and go that we wouldn’t stay here again in spite of enjoying the hotel itself.

Liked: Wonderful and friendly staff throughout lobby and bar. Bar served delicious takeout dinner and happily served our complimentary drinks for the night. Gated parking for peace of mind. Dog enjoyed the dog run in the back and the grassy area in the front. Room was spacious and clean.

Okay rooms but breakfast experience...

Liked: This negative review is mostly for the breakfast experience. The rooms were fine and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was from 7-10 am. We got there at 9:30, most of the tables were dirty with food on the floor under one of them. Breakfast bar was picked over, no cut fruit left. The scrambled eggs, sausage and potatoes, were tepid and dry. They had an omelette bar but no one to staff it. When I finally found someone to ask for an omelette at 9:35, she informed me that omelettes were over, too late. I accepted this until I saw a staff member at 9:45 with a freshly made omelette with a large amount of cut canteloupe on her plate for her staff breakfast. There was no manager to be seen and only rare sightings of restaurant staff. They really failed on the customer service/breakfast portion of the experience. The parking area was gated for security and when we asked the receptionist if the hotel was in a bad area, she said "yes". We will not be returning.
Disliked: Dirty tables in the breakfast room. no staff, no omelettes or cut fruit. No butter for pancakes or bread. Fruit in a bowl looked old and banged up. Refrigerator in our room didn't work and there was a wet towel in it.

Liked: Been here many times. Breakfast is always great. Room was comfy, and staff was excellent.
Disliked: Pool looked a little funky, and horrifying foam on the surface of the hot tub.
