Liked: Great location for walking to many places in city. Lovely atmosphere downstairs, in lobby and garden. Simple, comfortable room. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Liked: This hotel provided the ideal level of service; the staff were friendly, informative, flexible, and attentive but never overbearing. The rooms and common areas were comfortable and clean; the breakfast was tasty, fresh, and covered all essential nutrient groups. Small details like the collection of decorative owls and the refreshing mint water provided freely in reception give the hotel its own unique personality also. The 24-hour reception cover was particularly welcome. The location was ideal for the visitor to Amsterdam, being situated perfectly between the bustling touristic centre and calmer inner suburbs of the city with extremely convenient access to transport options. Roemer Visscherstraat is an elegant, quiet, architecturally pleasing street, typical of this part of the city. Inside the hotel, a lift is provided, and the staircase, should one use it, is quintessential Amsterdam.Overall, I would strongly recommend this long-established hotel; the staff and proprietors are obviously very experienced at what they do, and this shows. I would happily stay here again, perhaps in the not too distant future.
