Gone down hill
Liked: We have been to this location so many times and always had a fab time and felt value for money, a lot has changed have to pay for robes and slippers now for spa and room service was absolutely diabolical £53 for two burgers and chips and onion rings the chips were barely warm and the onion rings were stone cold tried to ring down but no answer and was late couldn’t wait for replacements. When complained at checking out told should of complained at time: after over ten visits to this wonderful property think this will be our last time which is such a shame

Great place for a weekend...
Liked: Lovely large comfy room, excellent buffet breakfast - fab sausages ! We had dinner in the pub restaurant and in the main restaurant, both were very good - nice wine selection and with attentive waiters. We used the Pool, Steam Room, Jacuzzi and Sauna, all super clean and Warm. The surroundings are lovely and well kept. We walked down to the steam railway station over the river and down the river walk into Peterborough, even the weather was great ! Thank you all.
Disliked: Bathroom could do with an update - this did not affect our lovely stay.

Faded grandeur could be great...
Liked: The location was the only good thing. The building is old and could be fantastic but it’s run down with lots of maintenance issues
Disliked: Paint peeling everywhere, shabby carpets that either need replacing or cleaning. Faded grandeur.

Nice sums it up
Liked: Nice place but starting to look a bit shabby in places, having to book a spa slot was annoying as access was limited

Local night 'stay-away'.
Liked: whilst staying there, we googled and read about the history of the building, which was interesting...especially as we live literally 2miles away (we wanted a change of scenery for the evening).our family room was comfortable and spacious and it had a huge, amazing bath.we definitely got our hearts racing.using the 2 flights of stairs, but this was not an issue. as we had a lovely view from our windows.we enjoyed using the pool, sauna and steam rooms, and ventured into the pub next door for drinks mid evening.the only thing that let the hotel down, is that there is a food / chip-fat type smell in the corridors which is not pleasant...hiwever this would not stop us from staying again in the future..
