Great location . But not...

Liked: The location is excellent with nearby bus stops plus baker street tube and Marylebone station bout 10 minutes walk...plus Oxford Street, marble arch Edgware road also 10 mins away.Rooms are decorated with lots of pictures to give a more upmarket appearance. Molton brown shampoo and shower gel provided.a jet wash bidet spray. Kettle with tea ,coffee and sugar. fridge. Hairdryer. And phone . My room was serviced every day.In the lobby there is a display of leaflets of various tourist attractions.
Disliked: Ok ,so I had stayed here before so I partly knew that it's not like the photos online! Nor is there a lift and tho the hotel is small its over several floors. Lots of stairs! However this is now six months later so certain things need to be addressed. There is a breakfast room but no food is provided. You can bring food to eat there..ie take away. There is a TV. Also. There are a couple of chairs set apart from the dining area to sit if you are waiting for taxi etc..but certainly not a lounge. More bedding ie a blanket, needs to be provided as it getting colder. Also the one sash window would not close properly so there was the noise of the traffic. Pillows are rock hard. There was a spare one, but it too high to reach! The bathroom sink is hard to use to fill the kettle. The towels are not hotel luxury softness either. Plus there was no milk provided and no one to ask! As the biggest bug bear is the 24 hour reception... (except for when I booked in and the guy was equally as lovely and helpful as last time...) it didn't exist. The hotel is listed as 4star ..I'm sorry but this is not four star. And the price I paid even with a booking.com reduction was far too expensive for what you get. However a few small changes could make the world of difference.

Great staff and surroundings, would...

Liked: The staff were excellent! Vincent the receptionist (wears glasses) was pleasant guy who couldn’t do enough for the hotel guests, as former employee of working 10 years in the hotel business, his customer service skills were exceptional and I would highly rate his service in particular!
Disliked: Unfortunately the only let down was the room had no air conditioning and could quite get hot in the room even with the window open. But that’s down to do with old buildings in London. Could do with portable air fans in each hotel room

Worst hotel experience I have...

Liked: The location was good.
Disliked: When we were leaving there was no one to bring the suitcase down 60 stairs. My sister and I are both in our 70’s and it would have been impossible - and dangerous- for us to try and carry it down the narrow stairs. I have been travelling for over 40 years and have visited over 35 countries. This hotel was the worst I have ever stayed in! The only person on duty was Gloria who said couldn’t help because she’d recently had an operation on her right wrist. We asked if she could call the manager which she did. But his answer was that it was his day off and someone would come to help with our bag in two hours! This would have meant that we’d miss our international flight! Gloria finally brought the suitcase down, but then refused to call a taxi.I will never stay in this hotel again and will advise all my colleagues and friends to avoid it at all cost!
