A hidden gem

Liked: We really loved our stay here. I nearly cancelled when I oddly struggled to guarantee a double bed in our room in a hotel! So glad I didn’t, it’s such a beautiful building - an unexpected inner sanctum on the walk from the train station in the rain. Staff were all extremely helpful and accommodating during our stay.We had a delicious desert and drinks in the stunning dining room one evening - very relaxing.It was a short walk into the centre. We got an Uber from Vila Nova de Gaia one night which was very reasonably priced too.It was a bit chilly to use the pool unfortunately - will definitely come back to try it out!

Liked: Pleasant friendly staff. Very tasty food.
Disliked: The ventilation of the bathroom was not working well.The infrastructure of the building/air condition placed on the roof of the modern building was very noice. I could here that in the room even with closed window.

Liked: it is always good to have an outdoor pool when visiting a city with great weather. although t it is only a 10 minute walk to the first interesting sights, it is a 30 minute hike up the mountain when you go to the river and walk back to the hotel

Liked: Lovely helpful staff, soundproof and gorgeous super clean rooms, great facilities, really good powerful shower, in a lovely bathroom! Great bar and outside seating.
