Very Good - 4.0 out of 5

Melody, Columbus, OH Thu, 8 May 2014

Beautiful hotel and interesting place to visit and see inside. It was minutes from the venue where we enjoyed a concert that night. There is a parking garage directly across the street where overnight parking was available for $13. Valet parking was $29 in comparison.

Liked: Roomy and clean room. Desk employees were friendly and informative.
Disliked: Room service prices were obnoxious as I should have expected, so there was no way I was going to order anything. You have to pay for WiFi too.

Terrible Experience - Stay at...

Liked: The location is great - downtown & close to many places
Disliked: We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant & got food poisoning. The staff barely acknowledged us when we told them. They actually said “we couldn’t proof it was them” - basically accusing us of lying. We had nothing to eat except the restaurant food & spent the morning in the ER. The rooms are extremely small - the bathroom barely fit one person. The bed & pillows were very old.

Elegant and sophisticated!

Liked: The old world charm and elegance was captivating! The beautiful chandeliers and posh setting was such a delight. We enjoyed some amazing cocktails in the Speakeasy as well as delicious coffee in the cafe. The waitstaff was attentive and very courteous. Next time we are in Pittsburgh, we know exactly where we are staying!

Overall, we had a great...

Liked: Location was perfect for attending a concert at PPG Arena. Walk was easy and safe. Hotel lobby and restaurant are beautiful. Check-in was smooth and the staff friendly. We ate dinner in the Tap Room. Food was delicious, service was great. Breakfast in the Terrace room was fantastic.
Disliked: Hallways on the guest floors are looking a little worn and tired. Carpet is loose and bunching up. Trim, baseboard and doors need attention to detail. They are badly scuffed, dirty and and look a little worse for wear. At the price point we paid, $345/night, more overall attention to the highly traveled areas is a must.
