Liked: Location was beautiful and full of character and history.
Disliked: Floorboards were very creaky but that is to be expected in an older property and so not an issue.

Perfect location for a weekend...

Liked: Perfect location. Lovely historic building. Great relaxing atmosphere. Very helpful and friendly staff, both front of house and back office.
Disliked: Bar service a bit slow at peak times.

Nice, would go back

Liked: Beautiful old hotel. As with all old hotels could do with a bit of redecoration (but I am guessing this must be a continuous job). Friendly and helpful staff. Good selection at breakfast and no waiting. Only a few minutes walk from the main attractions of Harrogate.
Disliked: Paying for parking, although reasonably priced I stayed at a hotel only a couple of hundreds yards further up the road the previous year and parking was free, so why do they charge?

Enjoyed the atmosphere and location...

Liked: We were disappointed on 2 points. The lift was inadequate and worrying. It had no directional lights. It was impossible to know where it was Our bed was small and uncomfortable !
