Bad

Liked: Contacted hotel to see if we could pay cash on arrival. They wrote us back saying booking.com should have told us that the hotel was closed and not taking any visitors. Imagine if we had just turned up? X

It was poor.

Liked: The breakfast was nice and bed was comfy.
Disliked: There were cobwebs everywhere. My room lights didn't work. The bathroom was run down. The food in the Christmas party I attended was terrible and the service was poor. There was no stuff at reception when I arrived and I waited a while before I was seen. The keyring for the room key broke in my hand.

Tired and worn out -...

Liked: Nice looking building in a cute village. 20mins walk from town centre. Acceptable facilities. Grounds look fantastic. Good carpark. Great potential. Big bathroom with large bath. Bed was comfy. Views from room were fantastic.
Disliked: This place is tired. It's old, worn and in need of upkeep. The reception was unmanned and despite a buzzer, took a while for someone to respond to check in. On the flipside, despite check out being 11am, there was no one at the desk at 11, so there was a queue to check out.Our room was an executive suite - good size room but very cold. We had a sofa in the room and moved it closer to the tv - there was a lot of dirt and so many dead flies under the sofa, along with dust and someone's toothbrush. Room was reset after we went out for the day - no new water bottles were added or tea bags, and more dissapointingly no toilet roll. With no one at reception, I had to take a roll from the downstairs communal toilets. We had a large bath that should have been a jacuzzi bath, but this didn't work.Soap holder broken and propped up with a small bottle of shower gel, which i hadn't noticed so inevitably feel off when I went for the shower gel.Inadequate room heater.Breakfast had an acceptable selection but nothing special. Slow service, all juices empty despite not many guests. Wanted pancakes but mapel syrup had ran out, which seems poor given its shelf-life, so that was dissapointing. In conclusion, there is loads of potential but it needs investment. It's tired, dirty and worn. Needs some love. Not good value for money and left mainly feeling dissapointed.

Lots of potential with this...

Liked: Nice location, food was tasty. Nice bathroom and jacuzzi bath!
Disliked: All round cleanliness of the place from rooms and general hotel area. No heating in the room Windows wouldn’t shut properly 50 minuet wait for food in a dead restaurant, with limited options.
