lovely place for a mid-week...
Liked: Beautiful location and grounds and kitchen garden are amazing. Food was great.
Disliked: Feels set up more for corporate events and functions rather than family and couples. We were asked to pay in full on arrival as they explained about prior non paying guests and this is now policy. Very lovely and quiet surroundings during the week but a wedding function at the weekend was noisy which we could hear from our room above the function room and a drunken abusive argument out in the garden at midnight spoiled the atmosphere.

Very good
Liked: It's clean, pretty from the outside and the staff are kind. The beds are comfortable. The bathroom is big.
Disliked: Our room was a courtyard room unfortunately without any style and it seems like we landed in a conference hotel with lots of cheap fittings in the rooms. I was disappointed not to be in the main house but it's quite depressing to know such a beautiful former family manor house has been so unprettily redone. Our room had a low hum pervading from a garden shed just under our window. The trouser press was broken and we were missing a bath towel. It could be so much more than this.
