Liked: The location was good and the decor, also the food and service in the restaurant
Disliked: Attention to detail. Room was a bit shabby. There was no hot water or shower gel.

Idyllic hotel in true English...

Liked: Clean spacious room, delicious breakfast, beautiful grounds, great location.
Disliked: Tables and chairs being dragged across the floor in the restaurant below our room at 8am on our first morning there. The late night room service was unable to provide gluten free bread for a sandwich despite it being available on the normal room service menu an hour before. Seemed pretty crazy logic to me.I hope the above can be taken as constructive. Everything else was perfect

A little gem

Liked: The Hotel was lovely, situated in a beautiful setting and on arrival it all looked very grand. The rooms were comfortable and roomy, all the staff we spoke to were very professional, helpful and friendly. A little gem of a hotel, highly recommended if you are in this area and want a touch of luxury, you won't be disappointed.

A great choice for a...

Liked: Team went above and beyond to offer an earlier-than-expected 'early check-in' so that my elderly mum had time to relax and change in the comfort or our room after long journey and before family lunch.
Disliked: No blanket available in room to accommodate different room temperature preferences between my mum and I! However, the staff went out of their way to resolve this, eventually finding additional duvet late at night. Also - we were unable to take breakfast (included) in the restaurant on the first morning, and whilst we were given room-service breakfast free of charge, it was much less convenient for us, in fact. It was uncomfortable to sit at the small table in the room with so many items, and my mum's mobility meant that she couldn't eat off a tray on her lap.

Great stay with our dog

Liked: Room well appointed and clean. Great for a stay with a pet. Staff exceptional amd couldn't have made us or our dog feel more welcome. Decent breakfast.
Disliked: Nothing significant. Dinner, while tasty, was rather overpriced, but restaurant staff were excellent.
