Exceptional

Liked: A last minute booking as our plans had to change.Owner greeted us on arrival, friendly and helpful. Room was great, very clean. Super shower. Breakfast was exceptional. Altogether a lovely stay. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Disliked: Nothing

A traditional home stay in...

Liked: Robin (and his dog) were very welcoming and his property is lovely. The gardens are immaculate and the whole place is meticulously maintained, despite being a period property. The rooms were extremely comfortable and well furnished and the breakfast was home-cooked, delicious and the eggs came from the chickens clucking outside, so couldn’t have been fresher!
Disliked: There is no lift and the rooms are all up flights of stairs, so not great for anyone with mobility problems.

Quiet peaceful stay 5 minutes...

Liked: Loved that it was a short 4-5 minute drive out of Greymouth. We opted for the private stand alone cabin rather than the lodge rooms. Loved the privacy and parking directly at the front of the door. Host was welcoming, helpful and friendly. Facilities were all very clean, tidy and comfortable. Would definitely be quite comfortable for a lengthier stay (we were only there overnight as we were taking the trans alpine rail the following day) Would recommend Oak Lodge.
Disliked: Nothing - we were happy with all aspects of our stay!

Liked: Beautiful location with great views and well maintained garden. The full breakfast was great! Very comfortable with everything you need, including a lounge to relax and have some tea. Robin and Chico were very friendly..

Excellent property in all respects,...

Liked: Everything. Lovely spacious cottage,with parking at door. Nice layout, comfortable bed, generous toiletries, and included all the items needed for our 2 night stay. Kind, accessible and friendly host with charming dog. Proximity to Greymouth without being in town.

Good comfortable stopover for Pancake...

Liked: The bedroom was large and very comfortable. The private bathroom was good with both a bath and a shower. Nice communal lounge upstairs. Breakfast was excellent. Robin, the host, was very friendly and helpful.
