Excellent hotel, excellent restaurant, excellent...

Liked: Dinner was fabulous. The staff, especially the doorman/bell captain, exceptional: competent, friendly, excellent.
Disliked: Elevator in our wing was out. This made for very awkward travel from room to main section of the hotel.

TIts was a shame we...

Liked: the staff was very helpful the area was good and the breakfast had a good choice
Disliked: the dinner menu could had more choice but the bare menu had other options.

Lovely setting and main part...

Liked: Lovely setting. Staff very friendly and helpful, and Porter actually refused a tip! One of our party had a sudden family bereavement the day we arrived and staff were patient, understanding and helpful in cancelling one of the 3 rooms we had booked and one of the treatments at no cost.
Disliked: Lunch and evening meal were just ok so we were a bit disappointed. Menu unclear about suitability of food for vegetarians/vegans. And when asked, staff didn’t know either, although they were happy to check with kitchen. Staff also unsure re ingredients of other items on menu. To be fair I think they said it was a new menu they weren’t familiar with. I had a Salt and oil scrub in spa and think 25 minutes was not enough time for the therapist to do a thorough job or for me to relax. Other friends felt the same about their 25 minute treatments. I think £60 for 25 minutes is quite dear. Disappointed that spa building was short walk away from main hotel building.
