Quaint but it didn't bowl...

Liked: The host was a lot more cheerful and welcoming in the morning at breakfast. Our room was very clean and the bed really comfyViews from the bedroom window were lovely and I can understand the appeal of such an old English home to visitors to the UK but I guess because we live in a similar area we weren't as impressed as we had hoped we would be
Disliked: When we arrived we weren't sure if anyone was at home as the tea room etc was closed but having knocked on the front door the host eventually came to meet us. He explained that there was a problem with the heating system and was waiting a plumber. Thankfully it was fixed before we went to bed. We didn't particularly find the downstairs rooms very welcoming, the room decor looked a bit tired and the water pressure in the shower wasn't great.Breakfast was hot, cooked and presented well but we felt the portion was slightly under parr with only two mushrooms, two small chipolata sausages and no beansQuite close to a main road and the noise was audible although we managed to blank it out.

Liked: Beautiful big stonewall historical house, if only those walls could speak, if you don't mind narrow steep stairs, wooden floors that accompany your every step with gentle sound, it will thrill you as it does me. I loved everything about it, even old windows, that can't be modernized because the house must maintain historical appearance. Owner did an awesome job maintaining the old charm and adding necessities we are used to, created fully functional and stylish bathroom. Old style high bed almost required help to climb on top of it, made sleeping feel like on top of the cloud. I was always intrigued and curious to look into those tipical english old beautiful homes. Staying in this house felt like stepping in the past thru a time hole, almost.Wery welcoming host, open for conversation if you are into it, or not if you choose so, prepared for us an excellent full english breakfast.

Completely unexpected treasure!

Liked: It was an absolute treat staying here. the bed was very comfy, the shower was hot, the facilities were excellent. Hosts were communicative and helpful. In addition to the cute cottage I stayed in there is an art gallery on site with items made by one of the hosts plus cakes made by them too! I was able to attend one of the craft courses which I thoroughly loved.
Disliked: nothing
