Liked: Great location
Disliked: Cleaning staff was not very courteous to us when we came back to our room to use the facilities and brush our teeth after breakfast on our departure day. It was only about 9:30, and we had not checked out yet to meet the 11 AM checkout time. She went right in to clean up our room, although I had forgotten to put the don’t disturb sign on the door. She was very insistent that she already cleaned the bathroom and we couldn’t come in. I noticed she already took the $20 tip we left on the dresser, though! We ended up using bathrooms in the lobby. For the price of the lodging, we were shocked. Also, the sign in the office about a $75 fine for every 15 minutes beyond 11 AM checkout is unwelcoming and obnoxious. I have never seen such a sign or policy at any other lodging we have stayed at, in Carmel-By-The-Sea, or anywhere else for that matter. These issues were off-putting.

Disliked: The parking was not good and there are too many stairs to get to room .

Charming hotel in Carmel.

Liked: The hotel is worthwhile. Rooms are so charming. Fireplace and a good bed are a great combination. In addition to that, the locations is very good, parking is free and the staff is so friendly.
Disliked: Breakfast is “shy”, but ok. There is no elevator and no luggage trolley. You must deal with your luggage 100% by you own.

Quaint place near the beach...

Liked: We liked the location of the property. Only about 3 blocks from the ocean (to the left) and a block away from the stores, shops, bakeries, etc, (to the right). Modern shower & bathroom. Bed comfortable. Pool area looked quaint, but too cold this time of year to enjoy (or for it to be open). Breakfast area in the morning had pastries, bagels, cereal, juice, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, coffee & hot tea.
Disliked: I can't say I didn't like anything about the stay or property. I would just double check the offerings for each room. My husband really likes a bath, and we got the modern shower. I thought a small microwave might be in the room, but it wasn't. We also like a spa, but we went without at this property. So, nothing bad, just double check the offerings before booking.
