Enjoyable stay in a cool,...

Liked: Hotel is cool and modern, big windows which was great. Great accommodating and friendly staff. Free bikes for use. Noon check out time so it's not too early. Location is great - deli across the street has all your needs covered. All in all I would stay again.
Disliked: The bed was not super comfortable. It is right on a busy street and the noise was a bit loud at times.

Very good

Liked: Very clean and great location
Disliked: The toilet is very small. While I can appreciate the modern sleek esthetic; the toilet was like sitting on a toad stool! Only negative thing about the place!

Shabby but adequate and it's...

Liked: The location of the hotel in Nolita is perfect if you want to avoid the crowds, noise, lights and mayhem of Midtown and Times Square. It is perfect to explore China Town, Little Italy and Soho. The view from our 7th floor bedroom window was sensational - seeing the Empire State Building lit up at night, what's not to like? There was plenty of hot water for the spacious shower (not much storage space though).
Disliked: The hotel seems to be going for a 'shabby chic' vibe (with the emphasis on shabby). If I was being cruel I would describe it as tired, unloved and overpriced BUT it worked for us. Don't expect a bright welcome. We stayed for 6 nights over Christmas with no tinsel, tree or carols. The wifi worked fine in the lobby/reception (it was a bit slow up on the 7th floor). The restaurant was closed for the holiday period but there are plenty of quality restaurants nearby and a wide variety of shops open all over Christmas. We visited Times Square of course and we were glad not to be staying there! Our first time in New York was an absolute blast but the Nolitan hotel just served as a convenient base - not a hotel in which to linger or enjoy the ambience. Don't be too downhearted on arrival - the room was serviced every day, the shower was good and the view superb. The bed was passable, the room temperature was easy to control and a balcony with a view - if you look carefully and don't lean over too far you can see the Williamsburg Bridge. Oh, and it's noisy. The city never sleeps.
