Good

Liked: The staff were incredibly welcoming and addressed all of our queries before we even arrived at the hotel, which made for a smooth and stress-free check-in. The customer service was outstanding throughout our stay. Including a room upgrade too.The hotel itself has a quirky, unique charm, more in line with a boutique hotel than a traditional one.
Disliked: Our stay was very pleasant overall, and we appreciated the room upgrade to a larger space—it was a lovely gesture by the hotel. The only minor issues were with cleanliness; the toilet seat and the area underneath had some hairs and other remnants, which I took care of. Additionally, the TV didn’t work throughout our stay. Normally, this wouldn’t have been a major problem, but as I was feeling unwell during the trip, we spent more time in the room than usual.

Our 5* Stay

Liked: The Bed, especially the pillows, was extremely comfy. The Room itself was top notch, loved the radio and recorder player in the room. The Amenities, which was housed in a little doll house, was an excellent and thoughtful idea. The breakfast was outstanding, one of the best meals in York we had. The Pantry is such a unique idea. The WiFi was strong even in the far reaches of the hotel. The staff was friendly and approachable, especially the lady in the morning/early afternoon who welcoming, understanding and always had a positive attitude.
Disliked: The Pantry needed some other drinks perhaps a small bottle of water. Our room had a little mold in the shower near the hair products, Plug in the bath, had hair tied around it from previous guest- a little watch out and just a minor blimp in an otherwise 5* stay.
