This magnificent Georgian townhouse features sumptuous rooms each with a 42-inch plasma TV DVD player and slate bathroom. Among the cobbled streets of Edinburgh's New Town it is 2625 feet from Princes Street. Individually designed with unique furnishings the rooms at Nira Caledonia feature luxury goose feather beds and goose down pillows. Some offer large floor-to-ceiling windows a private garden or a relaxing spa bath. Guests can enjoy breakfast in their room. The restaurant and bar which is set to reopen in May 2018 serves fresh cuisine with Scottish and often organic ingredients. The bar provides a range of over 25 Scotch whiskeys.

Honest review.

Liked: I've stayed at a few posh places such as inn on the lake in ullswater or Langdale hotel in Windermere and I'd honestly say, Nira is the one I've enjoyed my stay the most at. Hospitality is on point. We turned up late at night due to a long drive with the snow and ice in Durham. Andy made sure we were fed with his famous sandwiches and top quality gin. Everyone is friendly, open to a chat or to let you do your own thing. The location is superb. You cannot beat the views, you can see the castle if you're on the top floor. Parking, is no issue really. Honestly, I'm half tempted to quit working in Manchester and to be nira Caledonia's new electrician/maintenance staff if I can stay there!! Will be booking again!

Liked: Excellent location. Great breakfast
Disliked: The rooms smelt of chemicals quite strongly. Would advise toning down the cleaning products. Was a good hotel but not great.
