Liked: Fairly conveniently located, assigned parking near unit.Swimming pool was covered, making me think it was closed - but staff told me they had the cover on to preserve heat, and they would uncover pool when I was ready to go in.Some parts of town are drenched in the sulphur smell. The Newina Rotorua seemed to be just far enough away from the geothermal features to enjoy some fresh air.While the hotel is not really in a pedestrian area, there are grocery stores & some fast food places nearby.
Disliked: I thought laundry facilities were in room, but they were actually in a separate laundry room. Machines were fine - you can obtain coins ($4 NZD to wash load, $4 NZD to dry load) & detergent (brought my own) at reception.Traveling companion tried to use the sauna, but door wouldn’t stay closed.
