New York Hilton Midtown

The Hilton Midtown obviously doesn't need to work very hard to please it's guests. We were told at check in they have a 98% occupancy rate, largely due to convention and business travel. Too bad for those of us not on a company expense account.

Liked: Location is fabulous.
Disliked: This was our second stay in four years. There won't be a third. You expect a large hotel in the heart of midtown to be busy. And it is. What you should expect from a Hilton is service and convenience. This was not our experience. We didn't get our room cleaned on the first day because we were still in the room at 10 when housekeeping called. Amenities in our room did not include a mini bar, coffee maker or free wifi. Our room was accessible, which we did not request or require. This meant our bathroom was spacious with no counter space. Minor inconveniences that add up when you consider the room rate (high).

Liked: Location.
Disliked: Price for value. Pricey room, no restaurant, automatic $35 charge forcing you to buy something in the hotel, noisy room. Yup. Traveled for 35 years. I was Hilton "girl". No more after this experience.

Disliked: The check-in wait time is too long, did not get the room which i booked

Liked: location & room was as expected
Disliked: There was No cafe, just a counter to get coffee etc. & you have to find somewhere else to sit in the hotel. I expected a cafe/lounge area in a hotel this size. The elevators were awful, long waits & hoards of people crammed into them . They need more elevators.

I did enjoy my stay...

Liked: I think the location is great,the room was comfortable and mostly quiet,I can’t speak about the breakfast or the sports facilities as I did not use either.
Disliked: Some of the staff looked as though they were doing the minimum required of them,not much enthusiasm and my room although comfortable was looking a little tired.

Liked: check in was quick, very friendly, the lobby is full of vibrant live.whenever I stay here, I am never disappointed.

Liked: Not so great. Very annoying party till 1:30 same floor. Mattress need to be changed as showing serious slop on the right
