The Hilton Midtown obviously doesn't need to work very hard to please it's guests. We were told at check in they have a 98% occupancy rate, largely due to convention and business travel. Too bad for those of us not on a company expense account.
Liked: Location is fabulous.
Disliked: This was our second stay in four years. There won't be a third. You expect a large hotel in the heart of midtown to be busy. And it is. What you should expect from a Hilton is service and convenience. This was not our experience. We didn't get our room cleaned on the first day because we were still in the room at 10 when housekeeping called. Amenities in our room did not include a mini bar, coffee maker or free wifi. Our room was accessible, which we did not request or require. This meant our bathroom was spacious with no counter space. Minor inconveniences that add up when you consider the room rate (high).

Liked: Location
Disliked: Bed was uncomfortable. Sub par at best. Temperature in room stayed between 71-75 degrees and we were sweating. Turned off heat and it did not help. Was told air conditioning was not available. Outside temps ranged from hi 30’s to 50’s. Bathroom sink was clogged and would not drain. Hallways were cluttered with housekeeping service carts at all hours throughout our stay even when housekeeping wasn’t working. No complimentary water bottles or coffee maker (for the high priced room charge that is absolutely ridiculous) would not ever recommend.

Bad
Liked: Close to Times Square and many restaurants and coffee shop
Disliked: Staff was rode, very expensive for such small rooms, at least with this price you expect a complimentary breakfast which was not included, even parking was an additional crazy expense charge per night. We were not happy don’t recommend this hotel

Liked: The location is great!
Disliked: Outdated with old furniture. The rooms are ugly and look dirty. The elevator were very slow even to just open the doors. I was asked to pay $35 for a fridge when my booking confirmation said the room came with a fridge. Just overall old and torn down.

Liked: Staff was very helpful and friendly. Good location to all the tourists location
Disliked: I didn't like they charge 35 a day for food which you don't have an option to not use. They charge for laundry service which if you don't use is throwing away money 25 dollars a day. Also if you want a microwave it's 35 dollars if they have one. A lot of unnecessary charges for services you might not want.
